Senior Class of 2009-2010 

Senior Class Updated  1/04/10

During the last few weeks prior to graduation, lists will be posted concerning seniors who owe fees.  All outstanding debts must be paid before April 15 (such as library fees and books, class dues, lost books, club fees, etc.) 

Exam Schedule

The following days are regular school days.  All seniors should be present.   There will be no exemptions from the final exams!

Friday, April 30, 2010 6th and 7th hour exams
Monday, May 3, 2010 4th and 5th hour exams
Tuesday, May 4, 2010 2nd and 3rd hour exams
Wednesday, May 5, 2010 1st hour exam and make-ups
Thursday,  May 6, 2010 Senior Breakfast

 

Thursday, May 6, 2010 - Senior Breakfast/Final Clearance

 

Students are to report to their regular homeroom classes.  You will be called to the cafeteria for senior breakfast at 8:30 a.m.  The senior slide show will be shown.  Parents are invited to attend.

 

After the senior breakfast, students will report to the library for final clearance.  This is a mandatory meeting.  Make plans to attend.  Prior to this time, all books should be returned and any fees paid. 

Wednesday,  May 12, 2010 - Rehearsal and Group Picture (Old Gym)

Dress according to the school uniform policy. 

7:35 a.m. - Mandatory practice for the awards program/graduation practice.  All seniors must be present.  Be on time!

9:00 a.m. Senior Awards Program in the old gym.  Each senior will be recognized and presented his/her senior stole.  All senior awards will be presented at this time.  You will not wear your cap and gown for this program.  Parents are invited to attend.

10:00 Senior Group Picture.  Don't forget to bring your cap and gown and dress shoes for the picture.  Guys bring a tie and solid white dress shirt with a collar.  After practice, seniors will be dismissed and required to leave the campus. 

Friday, May 14, 2010

10:00 a.m.  Speech Practice in the new gym.    Be on time!

6:00 p.m. - Meet in the dressing rooms of the new gym.  Graduates will meet in the dressing rooms of the new gym on graduation night to put on caps and gowns and receive last minute instructions.  Bring your caps and gowns, club cords, stoles, and honor medals.  Students should not wear subject award medals earned this year or previous years.  The dressing rooms will be restricted to seniors ONLY!

Graduation Ceremony, 7:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m.  Graduation will begin promptly.  Be on time!  Remember seniors are still subject to all school rules throughout graduation night!

Third Place Master/Mistress of Ceremonies
Class President Introduces the Master/Mistress of Ceremonies

*In the event of a tie, alphabetical order will be used.

Students that have speeches to prepare for graduation will be notified by the principal or other school personnel as soon as possible after the rankings have been determined.  If you have a speaking part you need to see Ms. Connie, the graduation sponsor, as soon as possible to give you guidelines for preparing your speech.

Seating of Seniors
Honor students graduating with a 3.50 average or higher will occupy the first row of seats and will march in first according to rank.  Other students will march in alphabetical order. 

Seating of Parents

Students will be given the opportunity to choose where they parents will sit.  Seats will be chosen by students in order of rank down through 3.0.  To determine who will choose next, the names of the rest of the students will be placed in a drawing. 

Dress Code at Graduation
Don't forget hairpins to secure your cap.  Club cords and honor medals will be worn at graduation.  Dress code applies at all times.  If you arrive wearing inappropriate attire at practice or on graduation night, you will be asked to leave.  Proper attire to be worn under gowns:

 

Girls

Guys

Any color dress Dark dress slacks
White shoes Dress shoes and socks

Appropriate hosiery and footwear -

No boots of any kind

White dress shirt and tie
Flip-flops are not considered appropriate footwear for graduation.
